Redemption series...creation of women and relationships

Genesis 2:18
Then the Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone.  I will make a helper who is like him."

Women are very important to God.  When He created us, love was at the forefront of His mind.  He loved Adam and wanted him to have companionship.  He knew that Adam needed someone to share his life with.  God didn't just create women so men could have a mate.  He created women because He is crazy about us.  He receives pleasure in seeing our femininity and sharing love with us.

God created humans to be social creatures.  He formed us to have affections and desires. Generally, women are very relational.  We jump first in line to love all over someone in need.  Our hearts fill easily and break easily.  Society has termed us "emotional" as if it's a negative thing.  Often times, if we cry or feel pain, we are dubbed weak.  God placed in us the ability to nurture and deeply feel love for others.  We thrive on relationships with our children, families, and friends.
Relationships, however, can be quite messy because they revolve around human interaction.  Our pride and selfishness can, and will, push God's perfect love to the sidelines.

A very dear relationship in my life became quite ugly.  I knew I was right and the other person was very much at fault.  I could not understand how she didn't see things my way.  I prayed about it.  I realized after a long while that I was praying for Jesus to fix her.  I wasn't praying for God to soften my heart or teach me forgiveness.  My prayer was a selfish one.  It was one that God couldn't come near because it didn't honor Him.  I began to understand that my life is to honor God, not to be the right one in a relationship.  Once I began to think about this and pray for Jesus to open my heart to His ways and love, I soon realized that I no longer carried the pain of anger and frustration.  When I let go, Jesus was able to move in and do a miraculous work in my heart.

Jesus redeemed our relationship.  It is not a dream relationship by any means, but it is one without the deep pain I carried for years.  I have learned to look to Jesus for complete love rather than to this person.

Humans will let us down.  We will hurt and be disappointed.  We, too, will let people down.  Our words and actions will sting people's hearts at times.  Jesus is the only way to a free heart.  When our hearts experience pain, we must run to Jesus.  When we hurt someone, we must ask for forgiveness and fall on our knees and ask Jesus to restore our hearts.  He will run to us everytime we call.  His redemption always frees us to love the way He intended.

Is there a relationship in your life that needs redemption?  Choose Jesus.

My love to all....
